Seun Kutitouched down in New York City over the weekend for a stellar concert at BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! The Nigerian Afrobeat torchbearer and son of the legendary Fela Kuti brought down the house at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park bandshell alongside his band Egypt 80, which he took over as leader from his late father.

Seun Kuti is currently on a North American tour ahead of the release of this upcoming new album, Heavier Yet (Lays The Crownless Head), due later this year. He’s so far released a collaboration with Damian Marley from that upcoming album —marking the first time a Kuti and Marley release a song together—and revealed that Lenny Kravitz is its executive producer.
