Red Hot + FELA LIVE! has announced a stunning line-up for their summer concert at Damrosch Park Bandshell in NYC. The show, which aims to keep the spirit of Fela Kuti alive, boasts a roster of OKA-approved musicians like afrobeat percussion pioneer Tony Allen (Fela's drummer), Tunde Adebimpe & Kyp Malone (of TV On The Radio), Congolose crooner Baloji, Sudanese-bred Sinkane and super-group Superhuman Happiness — which unites members of Antibalas, TV on the Radio, tUnE-yArDs and Iron + Wine. In addition, the concert will feature the world performance premiere of “How to Survive a Plague,” composed by Luke O’Malley and Stuart Bogie (Antibalas), played for the first time live by Superhuman Happiness and Kronos Quartet.
