Exclusive: Listen To the Female Musician-Led Soundtrack of Wanuri Kahiu's 'RAFIKI'

The original motion picture soundtrack for RAFIKI, Kenya's first feature film to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival tomorrow, is here.

The project is female-led, including the illustrious Muthoni Drummer Queen, Chemutai Sage, Blinky Bill, Jaaz Odongo & Trina Mungai, newcomers Mumbi Kasumba (representing Namibia by ways of Zambia), Njoki Karu and more.

After giving the soundtrack our ears, it takes us through a whirlwind of emotions that puts the storyline between Kena (Samantha Mugatsia) and Ziki (Sheila Munyiva)—two young women who fall in love despite the odds stacked against them—in perspective. We're also ready for this film to premiere worldwide so we can pair the visuals with the fresh accompaniment.
