Piano People in the Park is heading to London. After entertaining audiences with its solid roster of artists, the amapiano brand is taking its unique party style to the United Kingdom capital city this coming Friday, Aug. 23.

Building a strong reputation through sold-out shows at the U.K.’s Drumsheds, Printworks, Ministry of Sound and The Warehouse Project, the brand’s mission to unite piano people across dancefloors around the world is leading towards a new direction.

The London event will be an outdoor set, their first since the brand’s formation in 2021. This comes after the success of their New York-hosted show in Central Park, which took place last month. Scorpion Kings, the legendary duo of DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, had also performed a now-iconic three-hour set at Afro Nation Detroit, stoking great anticipation for the forthcoming London event.

Bringing together fifteen of the hottest acts in the amapiano scene, London event goers will get the chance to watch the masters at work: Scorpion Kings will be headliners, and sharing the stage with them will be Oskido, the house music legend. Other acts include Vigro Deep, Young Stunna, Queen MaWhoo and Zakes Bantwini, among others.

The organizers shared their excitement in a press statement made available to OkayAfrica. “This event is more than just a celebration of amapiano,” they said. “It’s an embrace of the full spectrum of Southern African dance music, from 3-step Gqom to Afro Tech and Afro House. This festival is a testament to the depth and versatility of African music, and we can’t wait to bring this vibrant culture to London”.

Set to kick off at 2 p.m. GMT+1 in Southwark Park, Londoners are primed to witness one of the most phenomenal movements in African music right now.
