Cape Town three piece Original Swimming Party debut their electronic beat based melancholia on 'The Blue EP'

Cape Town Electronic Outfit Original Swimming Party’s Debut EP

Original Swimming Party, the experimental electro three piece from Cape Town have dropped their spellbinding debut The Blue EP following last night's launch at Cape Town's Fugard Theatre. Recorded at The Red Bull Studios Cape Town this fresh release floats between echoes of Thom Yorke circa The Eraser and Damon Albarn's new Every Day Robots sound. In between stand out tracks like the languidly emotive "Weeping Song II," Jeremy De Tolly and bandmates Thomas Glendinning and Greg Abrahams craft alternative soundscapes made of white noise and drone bleeps on the purely instrumental "ES330MxRps-6 (But You)." Original Swimming Party's use of guitars, boldly spacious production and vulnerable male vocals is nothing short of refreshing. Stream and download The Blue EP's  subtle mix of flickering melancholy beats and entrancing melodies below.
