Mozambican-Canadian singer-songwriter and producer Samito landed on our radar this year with ‘Tiku La Hina,” a track that pairs swift, tempo-shifting beatwork with sliced-up vocal samples. The producer has said that he wants to “bring groove into a new age, an age where new afro aesthetics drive the music.” His debut single, which sees him sampling a group of female Mozambican tufo singers, is a promising and spirited step towards that goal.
