OkayAfrica Presents 'Riddim & Beats' with D'banj, Sister Nancy and The Compozers at Lincoln Center Out of Doors

NEW YORK CITY—After having a blast last July at Lincoln Center Out of Doors with Davido and Antibalas, we're back again with another free show that will shut New York City down.

On Thursday, August 10, OkayAfrica presents Riddim & Beats, where we fill Damrosch Park with the funk of West African beats and the rhythms of Caribbean carnival. Nigeria's Kokomaster D'banj and Jamaican-born reggae star of the '80s Sister Nancy join forces to summon the essential elements of carnival culture—music, costume, and dance—alongside eclectic London afrobeats band, The Compozers. Live dancers turn the stage into a vivid, colorful mash-up of African and Caribbean cultures in the heart of New York City.
