February was enlivened by numerous fashion events and shows featuring international designers and models in New York City. One of the obvious highlights of the calendar was Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, which showcased over 90 of the world's top designers debuting their fall collections. Harlem Fashion Row did an incredible job of giving center-stage to designers of color at the mythical Apollo Theater. These weren't the only shows held in the Big Apple, many designers including Nigerian Duro Olowu, Lebanese-Ivorian Elie Kuame, Ghanaian Bernice Morgan presented their collections during the fall trendsetter month. We decide to celebrate the best of the creativity presented across all fall collections starring prints, patterns and interesting shapes.
