Muthoni Drummer Queenis readying the release of her upcoming album, SHE, a concept record that aims to answer the question of what it's like to be a woman in modern Kenya.
Each track on the Kenyan artist's upcoming album will take the point of view of a different female character.
"Lover," the new single from SHE which we're premiering here, is a buoyant, synth-lead anthem that tells the story of a proud and unapologetic transgender woman who, as Muthoni's team writes, "is experiencing the power and beauty of womanhood while basically having the sex of her life."
Muthoni mentions that the song came to her fully formed, the idea, concept, and lyrics coming to her like a vision.
