US-based Nigerian artist Richie Benson has just released a new single titled "I'm ready".

Last year, Benson released his critically acclaimed debut EP Croc City Boywhich One Tribe Mag described as "an introduction into the artist's mind" and the result of him "sticking to his dream and crafting his own sound".

More recently, the up-and-coming artist is back with another undeniable banger.

In "I'm Ready", we hear Benson switching between different Nigerian languages. From Yoruba to Igbo and pidgin English, the artist seamlessly transitions from one language to the next in a way that doesn't sound mechanical or forced at all.

Produced by Ransom Beatz, the track itself is laid-back but with an uptempo beat which gives it its signature infectious bounce. The subtle piano instrumental in the background proves just as important for the chilled melody of the track as is the prominent bass.

While the chorus itself seems to be full of complaints, we still hear Benson calling on his lover to come into his life as he is finally ready to answer her calls. Once again, the artist shows just how sharp his pen is with a lyric that's sure to resonate with just about everyone who gives the track a listen.

We're certainly here for it and can't wait to hear what else Benson has in store for his fans in the coming months.
