Premiere: Kae Sun 'Blackstar Rising'

"Blackstar Rising" is the tender opener on Kae Sun's album of the year choice Afriyie. The track is kind of the perfect roundup of the Ghanaian/Canadian songwriter's sound, blending acoustic guitars with rumbling bass and Kae's alluring high-pitched vocal delivery. The music video for "Blackstar Rising," directed by TIFF award-winning director Charles Officer, was shot in Kae’s home base of Toronto and features a group of child astronaut trainees. Kae explains the track is "about possibility and liberating your inner child to always push yourself to dream and explore your dreams beyond what you think is possible.” Watch the video for "Blackstar Rising" below.
