Emmy Gee Is Popping Bottles From Jozi To Lagos In 'Rands And Nairas'

Self-crowned king of intercontinental hustle Emmy Gee turns all the ingredients for cheesy commercial rap ("Africa stand up," "taking girls shopping," "poppin bottles") into a choice anthem of 2013. The Nigerian-born/SA-raised emcee had a head start on the Johannesburg bottle-popping scene as a music industry professional by the age of sixteen. Now a music biz vet, Emmy Gee enlists the help of producer Christian Arceo and South African rappers Ab Crazy and DJ Dimplez for his cross-continent toast "Rands and Nairas," which might just be the smoothest blend of (not entirely) Nigerian pop we've heard all year.
