Senegalese Fashion Through Photography: Omar Victor Diop

For Senegalese photographer Omar Victor Diop, fashion and the fine arts make up the heart of capturing the diversity of modern societies and lifestyles from behind a lens. Though his work has been featured at exhibitions in France, Belgium, Senegal, and Mali, it was not until the success of his first conceptual project, Fashion 2112, le Futur du Beau (featured at the 2011 Pan African Exhibition of the African Biennale of Photography), that Diop retired from a career in corporate communications in order to focus on photography. After debuting at Dakar's Fashion Week a year ago, Diop has earned a reputation as a rising name in his hometown scene. Above we highlight ten of our favorite photos from Diop's fashion and fine arts galleries.
