Tapping into the vibrant energy of a young and modern continent, Shine Shine is characterized by playful, tongue-in-cheek graphic prints rendered in bold, bright colours. The company was founded in 2007 by South African entrepreneur, Tracy Rushmore, who teamed up with graphic designer and illustrator Heidi Chisholm. Together the duo have developed a distinctive visual aesthetic that draws on shared points of inspiration. For Rushmore, a particular interest in the commemorative cloth's worn throughout the continent was the main inspirational force behind creating a new kind of cloth that would celebrate and tell the unique stories of urban African culture, whilst Heidi drew on a range of influences from barber shop signs to music. Not limited to textiles, the Shine Shine aesthetic has adorned a range of interior and fashion accessories.
