When Buraka Som Sistema co-founder Brankoreleased Atlas last year, we called "Let Me Go"—the album’s stand out song, featuring South African vocalist Nonku Phiri and Soulection beatmaker Mr. Carmack—“a striking track that brings zouk bass drum patterns into R&B territory with the aid of flourishing synthesizers and Nonku’s smooth Venda and English vocals.”

With over 20 collaborations across 5 cities, Atlas was a riot of influences and styles anchored by Branko’s Kuduro-inspired beatmaking. Working in that communal spirit once again, the remix EP, ATLAS Expanded adds another layer of collaboration to the Lisbon-based producer’s work.

Today, Okayafrica is premiering the Jumping Back Slash remix of "Let Me Go". In the last year, the British-born South Africa-based producer has worked with a cross section of hot SA rappers and vocalists including co-producing Spoek Mathambo's Fantasma project. On his “Let Me Go” remix, JBS has paired Phiri’s smooth vocals with big Gqom-style drums, increasing the tempo to a level that is sure to bring dancefloors to a frenzy. Check it out below.
