Audio: Debo Band 'And Lay'

Boston area's Debo Bandgather inspiration from The Golden Age of Ethiopian popular music in the late 1960s — a time that had Addis Ababa littered with groups playing a brass-heavy concoctions influenced by American soul and jazz. This isn't simply revivalist music though, Debo Band take the aesthetics of that past scene and repurpose them with mutated instrumentation (sousaphones, accordions, electric violins) and an overall in-the-pocket groove. "And Lay" is a cut off their upcoming eponymous debut LP for Sub Pop, hear and grab it below.
