You Need to See Koffee's Full Live Cover of Burna Boy's 'Ye'

The Jamaican artist delivered a memorable rendition of the popular Nigerian anthem on BBC's 1xtra Live Lounge.

Still from YouTube.

Last week, budding Jamaican artist Koffee had the internet buzzing when she performed an impressive rendition of Burna Boy's 'Ye," also known as the Nigerian National Anthem, during her first ever London show.

Folks online responded excitedly to the 19-year-old singer's cover—it even got a cosign from Burna himself, who shouted the artist out in an Instagram post, and hinted at a possible collaboration in the near future.

Luckily, for those of us who weren't present to catch the full version of Koffee's cover, the singer took to 1xtra Live Lounge recently for an energetic set, that included her cover of "Ye."

In a commanding performance, the singer runs through the entire song, delivering the Pidgin and Yoruba lyrics with ease and adding more of the Patois flair apparent in Burna Boy's sound.

Koffee's EP "Rapture" is out now, and it's a must-listen, if you haven't already.

We're keeping our fingers crossed for a collab between the two artists soon, but for now check out Koffee's memorable cover of "Ye" below.
