Watch WurlD's New Music Video For 'Paranoid'
Inspired by Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof.
Nigerian-American singer WurlD recently dropped his latest EP, Love Is Contagious.
The new release features singles like "Show You Off," "Contagious," and, this one, "Paranoid"—a love song that blends elements of Afro-juju and pop into an alluring Shizzi-produced track.
The standout track now has a new music video directed by Samuel J. Roberts which follows the blue-haired singer as he attempts to ease his lover's worries by reassuring her of his love. The director mentions that the new video was also inspired by Quentin Tarantino's horror film Death Proof, playing into the themes of paranoia from the song.

The clip follows WurlD and his lover from a beach to a room marked by blue flowers, and finally to a pristine white room. "I want my music to tell a story and that's what makes it relatable; it's what touches people," WurlD mentions about the music video. "The visuals give life to the story and create a pathway for listeners to understand the prevailing emotions at play in the song."
