Nigerian artist Rema shares the music video for his latest single "Lady" from his new EP Bad Commando.
The music video, directed by Tadas Vanagas also features choreography fromSophia, which is performed throughout the video by a talented dancer who takes the spotlight. Rema appears later in the video, dressed in trendy streetwear as his love interest ties him up and serenades him. The song itself is an airy with house-inspired production from Altims. It's made up of harmonies that Rema deliveries mostly in pidgin. It was one of our Best Nigerian Songs of the Month for October.
It's the second single from Bad Commando following the release of the EP's title track back in October. We spoke with the 19-year-old "Dumebi" singer upon the release of his latest project, and he opened up about the the spiritual intentions behind his song-making. "
My inspiration is spiritual, from God and led by the prophecy I'm called to fulfill,' Rema toldOkayAfrica. I didn't plan to create an EP for any particular purpose. These songs were recorded at different times beginning from 2018. Every song has its purpose, combined it creates a force the universe will reckon with. But in every creation I tend to create sounds that are beyond the regular, taking the youths to a new level. Showing them a fresh vision, showing them a new world."
Just last week the artist appeared with Nigerian up-and-comer Thutmose on his latest track "Love In the Morning."
