Watch Nasty C’s ‘Origins’ Documentary on Apple Music

Nasty C shares his backstory in new in-depth Apple Music 'Origins' documentary.

Nasty C reflects on his childhood and early memories of getting into hip-hop in new 'Origins' documentary.

Ahead of the release of his highly anticipated third studio album, Zulu Man With Some Power, Apple Music shares a documentary chronicling Nasty C's life and trajectory.

Only a few people's stories are like Nasty C's. The talented rapper comes from the small Kwazulu-Natal town of Illovo, a place one wouldn't expect to gift the world with one of the most talented rappers of this generation.

In the Origins documentary, Nasty C shares his story, from how he used to walk and cross rivers just to record "not even a full song." His childhood friends, who also appear in the documentary, attest to his dedication.

The doccie takes the viewer into the first studio Nasty C's used to record his early music and he tells the story of his debut mixtape One Kid a Thousand Coffins. Nasty C also tells the story of how he fell in love with hip-hop and how he gained popularity.

Also making appearances on the film are Nasty C's brother Ayanda Ngcobo, his childhood friend BU, his manager Yvette Gayle and one of Durban's biggest promoters Junior Lavie, who have all witnessed different stages of Nasty C's trajectory and personal growth.
