Video: George Danquah's "Hot and Jumpy" LP teaser w/ bonus audio track

If you’re like us then you’re counting down the days until Secret Stash Records reissues George Danquah’s only solo LP, “Hot and Jumpy.” The Ghanian artist combines reggae, funk, highlife, soul, African hustle and native rhythms to create a funky beat that brings you back to the 70’s (or takes you there if you never were). Though back in the day his album caught many collectors by surprise, Danquah was on the scene years before its release, fronting bands like Benya Beats, The Blue Monks (made up of Dbo Taylor, CK Mann and Pat Thomas) and the renowned Uhuru Dance Band. Check out the album teaser above.
For all you crate diggers, the reissue, which drops August 9th, comes in vinyl. And for those who can’t go anywhere without their iPod, don’t worry, it comes with an mp3 download too.
Pre-order the album (limited edition in pink!) and listen to more teasers here. Warning: there are only 100 copies, so get on it!
