Video: Buraka Som Sistema "Hangover (BaBaBa)"
May 10, 2011
Portuguese kuduro pioneers Buraka Som Sistema are back with the spastic single, "Hangover (BaBaBa)," that apparently isn't kuduro according to their soundcloud. "This is how we see club music and this is what we like to hear when we're out late at night. It's not House, it's not Dubstep, it's not Techno and it's not even kuduro."
Official release is slated for June 6th on Portuguese imprint Enchufada, and is supported with remixes by Tony Senghore, Swick and Oui' Wack. "Hangover's" kuduro-esque backbeat, alloy womps, minimal tech bleeps, and a vocal chant reminiscent of Babatunde Olatunji's "Jin-Go-Lo-Ba" circa 1959, illustrates the ever-expanding melting pot of global electronic music today.
