Trump Gives Speech at UN, Shouts-Out Friends 'Getting Rich' Off of Africa Before Referring to Non-Existent Nation of 'Nambia'
Donald Trump's speech to African leaders at the UN General Assembly on Wednesday was a mess—as we all expected it to be.
Donald Trump made his first appearance at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City yesterday, where he—once again—spewed nationalist rhetoric and shared plans to "totally destroy North Korea" in a charged speech, addressed to a room full of world leaders.
During a luncheon he hosted with African leaders from Ethiopia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, and a host of other African countries, the president decided to share his thoughts on the current state of African affairs.
"Africa has tremendous business potential,"Trump said. "I have so many friends gong to your countries trying to get rich, I congratulate you. They are spending a lot of money. But it does, it has tremendous business potential."
Yes, because the only reason why the continent of Africa matters right now is because it presents an opportunity for wealthy white men to get even wealthier off the backs and resources of Africans—again. Is anyone really surprised that Trump is basically championing neocolonialism?
Nope. No one is surprised.
A photo of Robert Mugabe and crew stalely reacting to Trump's speech has been spreading throughout social media, but we can't help but notice the irony in this particular photo being used to ridicule Trump—Mugabe is also trash. Besides, he was probably just "resting his eyes" anyway.

As you’d expect, the entire ordeal was a messy showing of Trump's general lack of aptitude as it relates to international affairs—and just about everything else for that matter. At one point, he referred to the non-existent nation of "Nambia." I wonder what he has to say about Wakanda.

He meant Namibia, of course.

The Twitter responses have been on fire:
Whenever anyone asks me where I'm "really from" I'm going to tell them the truth: Nambia.

Nonsense! Nambia shares a border with Covfefe. #IdiotInChief

Ah, Nambia. A beautiful country that borders the equally enchanting Zamunda.

All in all, it's great to see that Trump thinks Africa has so much potential. Sadly, he himself has zero, but as we know, that's never stopped a white man from getting undeservedly far in life—so here we are.
