THEESatisfaction Announce That They're Breaking Up

THEESatisfaction, the duo of rapper STAS and vocalist CAT, are calling it quits.

The Seattle-based duo's latest album EarTHEE presented an otherworldly take on hip-hop and R&B influenced by spoken word poetry and an afrofuturistic aesthetic. The record featured several tracks with frequent collaborators Shabazz Palacesand we even picked it as one of Okayafrica's Top Albums of 2015.

In a Tumblr post the group wrote:

After seven years of creating, touring, pushing boundaries and breaking through glass ceilings, THEESatisfaction has decided to end the group. We have decided to grow and take our individual careers to the next level.

Having been on the road every year since our first with very few breaks, it is time for us to rest, reflect & grow independently. We are grateful to our family, friends, fans, our agent Robin Taylor and our recording label Sub Pop for the ongoing support.
