Tems Announces ‘Born in the Wild’ Album Release Date and World Tour

Nigerian singer Tems’ eagerly anticipated debut album, ‘Born in the Wild,’ is set to drop June 7.

Nigerian superstar Tems has announced the release date for her debut album, Born in the Wild, which is now set for June 7.

Announced a few weeks back and then tentatively scheduled for a May release date, Born in the Wild will now be out a little later than planned. There’s no tracklist yet but it’s expected that recent singles, “Me & U” and “Not An Angel” will be on the album, as well as Tems’ most recent release single, “Love Me Jeje,” a sunny tune that interpolates the 2000s Nigerian classic of the same name by Seyi Sodimu.

Tems has also revealed an expansive world tour in support of the upcoming album.

From mid-June, the singer will perform in venues across five continents, starting off at London’s Eventim Apollo. Tems will traverse through Europe until mid-July, then run through North America from late August to early October. On the North American dates, she will be supported by Canadian R&B songbird Naomi Sharon and Nigerian American singer Lekan on select dates.

Venues for stops in Africa and Asia are yet to be confirmed, while mid-November dates in Australia will close out the tour.

Expectations for Tems’ debut album have been building for over a year. Already released singles have now teased that the singer is set to deliver a project worthy of meeting one of the most anticipated albums by an African artist in a while.

Going on the road will bring fans and listeners closer to the music she’s spent a significant amount of time crafting.
