Dynamic Liberian-American Designer TELFAR Wins the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund
Telfar Clemens of TELFAR snags a $400,000 prize and mentorship from CFDA members and Vogue editors.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and Vogue have announced Telfar Clemens, the Liberian-American designer behind TELFAR, the winner of the 2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.
Clemens competed with nine other U.S.-based, up-and-coming designers in a series of challenges for the big prize. He locked in the top spot through his voguing models at the CVFF fashion show, by highlighting the next generation of TELFAR lovers with the hashtag #telfarbambimo on Instagram and by collaborating with White Castle on their uniforms—to name a few.
TELFAR is a consistent, forward thinking brand that continues to define gender fluid fashion, so this award comes as no surprise. Clemens also continues to be a designer to watch.
Congrats, TELFAR!
