This Photo Story Inspired By the Egyptian Goddess Isis Is Enchanting
We're obsessed with this fashion editorial by Brazilian collective MAR+VIN.
Isis Maria is a photo story by Brazilian collective MAR+VIN that's absolutely stunning.
As an exclusive for Fashion Forward Brazil that ran earlier this year, this is the first collaborative project by São Paulo-based fashion photographers Marcos Florentino and Kelvin Yule, who are the duo that make up MAR+VIN.
Translated from Portuguese, here's the concept statement behind Isis Maria:
"ISIS MARIA: Woman, fertility and ancestry. Isis, from Egypt. Maria, from all women of the same name who passed through our lives."
This photo story gives us a modern fusion of Isis, the Egyptian goddess of children, and Maria, an icon of virtue and motherhood. MAR+VIN captures model Loo Nascimento beautifully as she emulates a strong, divine black queen against different backgrounds symbolizing growth and protection.
