SF-based production house Stronghold Sound, whose Sembeh Ma Fe Fe compilation we first caught word of back in 2012, recently returned with a follow-up to their survey of Guinean rhythms. This time around, the Roots Volume's modern cuts look to Guinea's musical heritage for guidance, linking up an older generation of artists with newer faces on Guinea's radar. Songstress MyBaby (Kadiatou Sylla) brings her salsa-flavored Guinean folk to the record. On "Matoto," MyBaby showcases her hypnotic pipes on an ode to the suburb in which most of her fellow featured artists are from. Listen to "Matoto" below and stream the rest of Sembeh Ma Fa Fe: Roots Volumehere.
