Stromae Marries Himself & Performs 'Tous Les Mêmes' In A Los Angeles Church
For the latest installment of his 'Lessons' performance videos, Stromae visits a church in Los Angeles to play "Tous Les Mêmes"
Stromae has been revamping his ‘Lessons’ videos across American cities in promotion of his current 10-concert North American tour. In the latest installment, the Belgian pop star visits the Iglesia de Jesuscristo Horeb in Los Angeles where, in full gender-defying make-up, he ties the knot with his better half: himself. "I got married with myself because I love myself too much,” he mentions in the video, before performing a stripped-down version of "Tous Les Mêmes" ("All The Same") backed by a 4-piece a cappella group. The Racine Carrée single is a fitting choice for the occasion as its lyrics deal with stereotypical male and female stances in relationships, with phrases like "You men are all the same, macho but cheap... all the same, all the same." Stromae's tour of North America culminates this week at New York City's Madison Square Garden with a performance alongside Janelle Monáeand Jidenna.
