South African Hip-Hop Awards 2019: Full List of Winners
Here is the full list of winners for the 2019 SAHHAs.
The 8th annual South African Hip-Hop Awards took place last night at Gold Reef City, Joburg.
Some notable wins include YoungstaCPT's 3T winning Album of the Year, Ginger Trill for Lyricist of the Year, Flame taking Best Freshman and Best Male, Nadia Nakai winning Best Female, Makwa winning Best Producer and Falko One receiving the honorary award.
The South African Hip-Hop Awards were started in 2012 by Ritual Media Group, a company owned by South African hip-hop entrepreneur Osmic Menoe aka Ace of Spades.
This year, the number of categories was reduced, making for a succinct list of winners.
It was noted in a press release prior to the awards show:
"We have had some made some major changes to the categories and aim to raise the bar even higher, the changes include merging the MVP and Hustler Of The Year Award together to become one, the Best Video award will be awarded to the directors of the respective videos instead of the artists themselves and we have also had to remove out the Kings Of The Province, Best Graffiti Artist and the Best Dance Crew categories due to a declining number of submissions over the years."
