This weekend marks the opening of Brooklyn museum MoCADA's Six Draughtsmen exhibit which showcases the drawing practices of six artists of Nigerian descent, including Wura-Natasha Ogunji(who we spoke to earlier this year about performance art and spectacle in Lagos), Ruby Onyinyechi Amanze (exhibition curator), Toyin Odutola,Temitayo Ogunbiyi, Nnenna Okore and Odun Orimolade. Though these artists are primarily based in the U.S., at the time of curating five out of the six women involved were actively engaged in studio practice in Nigeria.
