DIASPORA—RedRedis a duo formed by Ghanaian songwriter M3NSA, of FOKN Bois fame, and Hungarian producer ELO.
The group, who are named after the popular dish, come through with the stellar new single, "Sisimbo," a track that pairs uplifting electronic beatwork with soaring vocals and a Ghanaian twist, making it the perfect jam for your weekend.
The song's striking music video, which you can check out above, follows the group to Sri Lanka's rivers and oceans.
RedRed tells OkayAfrica that "Sisimbo" was "inspired by a (sea) shanty sung by Akan fishermen in Ghana to coordinate rowing."
"Our recreation of Sisimbo went through many transformations as the band itself developed and tried to tap into our ever-morphing sound," the band mentions.
"The video was shot on the Southwestern tip of Sri Lanka with a little twist, where the fishermen don’t even go fishing on boats. This solidified our attempt to tell this story of building relationships, effective communication and growth."
