We spotted adopted Okayafro-futurist producer SBTRKT's latest clip over at our main channel:
The future is here and the future is Okay with us. Translation: SBTRKT premiered the new video for his song “Hold On”–the cold stares and icy chimes of which are softened quite a bit by the falsetto of regular collaborator Sampha–on MTV Hive [yesterday]. The video by director Sam Pilling is a nice analog of the song’s emotion, trapping an unnamed protagonist in a sort of Ground Hog Day meets No Exit time-loop, endlessly replaying the same moment of quiet loss with the subtlest of variations. Alain Robbe-Grillet, hold your head.
Watch the clip above and read our in-depth interview with A Hidden Place, the man behind SBTRKT's ritualistic masks.
