Okayafrica’s Pop-Up Store is Now Open in Johannesburg
Last Thursday, we officially launched our artist collaboration with Cape Town-based designer Daniel Ting Chong. The Okayafrica x Daniel Ting Chong collection is available exclusively at our pop-up store at 70 Juta Street in Braamfontein, Johannesburg through 8 October.
A series of multicoloured graphics on t-shirts, a crew neck sweater, a headscarf and a tote bag, the collection draws its inspiration from various African national flags to create a singular African identity.
“National flags are often used as a beacon of hope, and a symbol of what a country stands for. A flag as a visual representation of its people–and to distinguish it from other nations. By having the same flag, Africa can have a common symbol to bring us closer together–at home or abroad,” says Daniel.
The Okayafrica pop-up store is open now through Saturday, 8 October, at 70 Juta Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg.Hours: Monday - Friday 10:00-17:00; Saturday 10:00-14:00.
