The Nigeria Entertainment Awards In Photos & Clips
Ice Prince and Osas Ighodaro host the 10th edition of the Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEAs) in New York City.
Over the weekend, the Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEAs) celebrated their 10th anniversary at NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts in New York City with a night of memorable performances, achievements, music video clips, and comedy hosted by Chocolate City rapper Ice Prince and New York-raised actress, model, presenter and the first-ever Nigerian-American winner of Miss Black USA, Osas Ighodaro.
Okayafrica and Okayplayer's own Abiola Oke (CEO, Okayafrica) and Dan Petruzzi (President, Okayplayer) were in the house to present the awards for Best Indigenous Artist (Pasuma Wonder), Entertainment Executive (Tobi Sanni-Daniel), R&B Artist (Praiz) and the first-ever Female DJ of the Year (DJ Cuppy).
Bils became an early crowd favorite by bringing his explosive performance to the seats and aisles.
Arguably the biggest round-of-applause of the night went to Female Artist of the Year Yemi Alade, who went looking for her "Johnny" in the audience later on in the night.
MC Galaxytore up the dancefloor to close out the show and live up to his title as the year's best live performance.
But it wasn't just Nigeria that shined at this year's NEAs. Ugandan showstopper Eddy Kenzo delivered one of the evening's most memorable performances shortly before taking home the award for African Artist (non-Nigerian) of the Year. E.L. did his part to represent Ghana with a solo rendition of his M.anifest collaboration "Hallelujah." Congolese singer and "sexy dancer" Fally Ipupa stopped by to present an award as well.
Of course, these are just a few highlights from the 2015 NEAs. Above, we recap on the night in photos. See the full list of winners below.
