Ghana’s very own, M.anifest, drops the music video for his single “W’ani Aba,” an infectious and mellow hip-hop tune featuring highlife singer Bisa Kdei.
The 4-minute visual, directed by Garth Von Glehn, sees M.anifest taking on the mythical persona of a quirky inventor whose sunglass creations transport wearers into an enlightening, illusory realm that includes afrofuturistic imagery and visuals of Pac-Man characters.
The crafty eyewear designs in the video were created by Serge Attukwei Clottey, the Ghanaian artist behind last year’s politically-charged creative movement “Afrogallonism.”
The visuals shift seamlessly between glossy, digital spaces and shots of Accra’s vibrant Jamestown and Madina neighborhoods.
