"Made in Africa" Shoe Company "Oliberte" Featured on CNN

According to Tal Dehtiar, his footwear company Oliberte is the first international shoe company to market casual, stylish shoes made entirely in Africa. The business model is simple: Make shoes that people will love from a fashion standpoint, and that they will feel good about buying. At all of the Oliberte factories, women comprise approximately 50% of the workforce, including junior and senior administrative positions. All partner factories exceed local labor standards and workers are provided current benefits like subsidized or free lunches, tea breaks and women are even provided job security with maternity leave. Tal has made the decision that helping people is more important to him than simply making a profit, and we are all about that here at okayafrica.
