Lupita Nyong'o Is Set to Star In This Exciting New Sci-Fi Comedy
It's being described as "Men In Black" meets "Miss Congeniality."
Fresh off her stellar performance in Jordan Peele's Us,Lupita Nyong'o has signed on for another exciting new film project, and it seems she's trading in her nightmarish "tethered" performance for something more lighthearted this time around.
The actress is set to produce and star in an upcoming sci-fi comedy from Universal, which is being described as a cross between Men In Black and Miss Congeniality, as noted in Shadow and Act.
Plot details are scarce—the film doesn't even have a title yet, but it will be a "star vehicle" for the actress as she'll be stepping on as producer as well, according to Deadline. The film's working title is Miss Universe.
The actress is slated for a number of upcoming projects. She is also set to produce the film adaptation of Trevor Noah's best-selling memoire Born a Crime, in which he'll play Noah's mother Patricia. Her film Little Monsters, which premiered at Sundance, is also set to come out later this year. She'll narrate the upcoming BBC wildlife series Serengeti along with John Boyega who will narrate the UK version of the series.
She isn't only making waves on the big screen, either. She'll also publish her first children's book Sulwelater this year, which she hopes will inspire children to love the skin they're in.
Her star power is truly out of this world, and we're here for it.
