LoveGlori is a duo of soul sisters — Lerato Moiloa and Nozuko Mapoma — from the streets of Johannesburg steadily on the rise. The two vocalists got their stage name by combining their real names: Lerato, which means love in Setswana and Nozuko, the Xhosa translation of Gloria. Among their influences they count the late and much missed Busi Mhlongo, Sibongile Khumalo, Asa and American smooth jazz saxophonist Kirk Whalum. “Our love for music is something we can’t describe to you but know this, singing makes us happy,” the twosome writes on their Facebook page, “It’s a drug we use often to escape the ugliness.”
