Issa Rae to Join 'Black-ish' Star Marsai Martin in Upcoming Comedy 'Little'
The 'Insecure' star is the second cast member to join 13-year-old Martin's highly-anticipated film debut.
Issa Rae will join Black-ish actor Marsai Martinin the upcoming Universal Picture's comedy 'Little."
The film, which was is being produced by 13-year-old Martin, "centers on a woman who gets the chance to relive the carefree life as her younger self (Martin), when the pressures of adulthood become too much," reports Deadline. The young talent also came up with the initial idea for the film. Will Packer and Tina Gordon are set to direct.
Though Rae's role is yet to be announced, it makes sense that she would play the adult version of Martin's character—we'll have to wait a little longer to find out for sure though.
Little will open on September 20, 2019.
It's an exciting time for Rae, who was recently named one of TIME's 100 Most Influential People last month, and won a Peabody for her work on her hit TV series Insecure. It was announced last year that the actor and writer is also set to star in the upcoming film The Hate You Give based on the Angela Thomas novel of the same name.
