Featuring Fameye, King Promise, Gyakie, Sarkodie and more.
This month has brought us some amazing heat from the camp of our favorite Ghanaian artists, from the established superstars to the emerging talents. As always, we bring all of that brand new heat right to your doorstep. Check out our picks of the best Ghana music you can lay your hands (and ears) on below.
Fameye "Not God (Remix)" ft. Stonebwoy
Ghanaian singer Fameye joined forces with Def Jam Africa signee Stonebwoy for the official remix of his latest hit single. "Not God" represents the limitations of man — no matter how ambitious mankind is, our ascension is hampered by things that impede all mortals. The introspective singer's message in “Not God” is that as humans, just do your best in leaving a good legacy.
King Promise "Perfect Combi" ft. Gabzy & "Naana"
Singer King Promise dropped a two-pack, a set of two brand new singles at once to close out the year. “Perfect Combi” is a collaboration with London-based afro-fusion artist Gabzy. This track is a mellow and soulful love anthem where the duo describe their woman who wields a “perfect combination”, while the solo cut “Naana” revolves around a man deeply inspired by the love of his life.
Gyakie "Rent Free"
Ghanaian singer and songwriter Gyakie graced us with her second single of the year, a charming tune titled “Rent Free.” It’s a midtempo afrobeats bop that sees Gyakie narrate the tale of a love that has fully occupied her heart and mind, like the title implies, rent free.
Sarkodie "Till We Die" ft. Ruger
On his latest single, top Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie teamed up with rising Nigerian superstar Ruger. The song is titled “Till We Die,” and it’s a deep and heartfelt exploration of love that transcends boundaries. In this track, Sarkodie and Ruger combine their lyrical prowess to paint a vivid picture of a love that knows no limits.
Shatta Wale and Tekno "Incoming"
Ghanaian dancehall singer Shatta Wale teamed up with Nigerian pop star Tekno for his latest single, titled “Incoming.” Shatta Wale’s latest foray into afrobeats sees the duo deliver smooth verses on a mellow tune, perfect for that midday cruise.
Kwesi Arthur "4LYFE"
Kwesi Arthur’s latest offering "4 Lyfe" is a heartfelt love ballad where Kwesi passionately professes enduring love to his significant other. An amapiano-tinged afrobeats tune, the M.O.G Beatz production is filled with vibrant rhythms and lush melodies that Kwesi floats effortlessly on.
Wendy Shay "Africa Money"
Wendy Shay’s latest single “Africa Money” is a conscious tune that serves as a poignant commentary on the problem of corruption in the African continent. Wendy here takes a strong stance against corrupt politicians who illicitly siphon public funds for their own gain, leaving their nations and citizens to bear the burden. With powerful lyrics and an evocative melody, Wendy Shay shines a spotlight on the issue, demanding accountability and change.
Soul Nana - EMMA (Official Video)
Ghanaian singer and songwriter Soul Nana released his latest single, titled “Emma”. Singing in the melodious Nigerian language of Yoruba, Soul Nana serenades listeners with a heartfelt tale of love and heartbreak, bringing his own unique flair to the world of afrobeats.
