Femi Kuti Shares 'Politics Na Big Business' Remix ft. 2face Idibia & Sound Sultan
Femi Kuti drops a remix of "Politics Na Big Business" from his latest 'No Place for My Dream' LP, featuring 2face Idibia and Sound Sultan.
With this revisit of “Politics Na Big Business,” the first single off his latest album No Place for My Dream, Femi Kuti blares an urgent call across spiky guitars and dallying horns: beware of deception. More specifically, Femi wants his fellow Nigerians to look cautiously at corrupt politicians as their country prepares for the upcoming general elections of 2015. To help him deliver this warning, the Lagos-raised singer/multi-instrumentalist brings Jos-born musicians 2face Idibia and Sound Sultan on the track to sing about the danger of unchecked trust. The “Politics Na Big Business” remix is of particular importance since the issue of corruption in Nigeria is pressing and, as a Sheila Cjukwulozie-written feature on the song explains, “has found a home in the everyday culture of the common Nigerian.” Femi then, as his father Fela did with his own, work seeks to rally people to awareness with this “Politics Na Big Business” remix, and he does so in a thrilling way.
