Ethiopian Post-Apocalyptic Sci-Fi Film 'Crumbs' Is Headed To Theaters
The Ethiopian post-apocalyptic sci-fi film 'Crumbs' will soon begin a limited U.S. theatrical run, which includes a weeklong stay in NYC.
Ethiopia's "first post-apocalyptic sci-fi film" may soon be headed to a theater near you. Next month, Spanish-born writer/director/producer Miguel Llansó's Crumbs begins its most extensive run of dates yet, which includes a weeklong stay at New York City's Cinema Village (Oct. 23-29). Llansó will be in attendance for the 7:15pm screenings on Friday, October 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24 (more information via the Crumbs in NYC Facebook event).
Set against the backdrop of a post-apocalytpic Ethiopia, the 68-minute film follows the journey of a "strange-looking" scrap collector by the name of Gagano (played by Daniel Tadesse). Explains a description on Indiepix: "Alternatively gripped by daydreams and constant fears, the diminutive Gagano has had enough of collecting the priceless crumbs of decayed civilization, including the most valuable: merchandise from Michael Jackson and Michael Jordan. When a spaceship that has been hovering high in the sky for years starts showing signs of activity, Gagano has to overcome his fears – as well as a witch, Santa Claus and second-generation Nazis — to discover things aren’t quite the way he thought."
