'Chewing Gum' Star, Susan Wokoma Named One of BAFTA's #BreakthroughBrits of 2017
Susan Wokoma, the Nigerian actress who played Cynthia on "Chewing Gum," was named one of BAFTA's #BreakThroughBrits of 2017.
Tracey wasn't the only painfully funny character on Chewing Gum, her overly pious turned sexually explorative sister Cynthia, played by Nigerian actress Susan Wokoma, consistently had us in tears as well.
The British Academy Film Awards seems to have taken note of her undeniable talent too. They recently named the actress as one of their #BreakThroughBrits of 2017. The Nigerian musical composer behind A Moving Image and Dear Mr. Shakespeare: Shakespeare Lives, Segun Akinola, also made the list.
In a short clip, posted on the BAFTA's Twitter page, the actress talks about her come-up and discusses some of her other roles.
