The ‘African Giant’ Burna Boy is featured on Coldplay’s new single, “We Pray,” released today.. The track, which is set to appear on Coldplay’s upcoming album, Moon Music (due October 4), also features Palestinian-Chilean act Elyanna, Argentina’s Tini and British Nigerian rapper Little Simz.

This collaboration adds to Burna Boy’s impressive year, which has seen significant performances and prominent partnerships. Known for his distinctive Afro-fusion style, Burna Boy has gained global recognition through collaborations such as “For My Hand” with Ed Sheeran, “Own It” with Stormzy, “Hey Boy” with Sia, and “My Oasis” with Sam Smith. He has also worked with Jorja Smith, and featured on Beyoncé’s The Lion King: The Gift.

Burna Boy’s 2018 album, Outside, earned him international acclaim with the hit single “Ye,” while recent tracks like “Last Last,” “It’s Plenty” and “City Boys” have further cemented his status as a leading voice in Afrobeats.

Coldplay’s “We Pray” follows their earlier single, “feelslikeimfallinginlove,” and will be featured on a physical release that includes a recording from Glastonbury. The track not only highlights Burna Boy’s ever expanding global influence, but also reflects Coldplay’s ongoing engagement with Nigerian artists. This is exemplified by Chris Martin’s recent performance of “Last Heartbreak Song” and “Good Feelings” with Ayra Starr in July, showcasing the band’s interest in diverse music scenes and the vibrant Nigerian industry.
