Legendary South African Actor Connie Chiume Confirms Role in 'Black Panther'
The most anticipated film of the year now has another amazing addition to the cast.
Connie Chiume, the South African actor best known for her work on Rhythm City and Zone 14, has revealed that she will be starring in Black Panther, IOL reports.
Chiume is one of three South Africans cast in the movie, joining John and AtandwaKani. She will be playing the mining elder in the film, and she says she's excited to attend the premiere of the movie in LA after interacting with her co-stars Michael B. Jordan, Chadwick Boseman and Lupita Nyong'o on set.
"I auditioned for it right here in South Africa actually, but the entire movie was shot in Atlanta in the USA, so that's where all the fun happened," she says to IOL.
"I am very excited to be apart of this production, it truly has been an inspiration working with such big stars and being directed by a young and talented man like Ryan Coogler."
Black Panther premieres February 16 in South Africa and in the U.S.
