Ayra Starr Delivers Superstar Sass in Video for “Goodbye (Warm up)” with Asake
The new video continues the momentum for Ayra Starr’s critically acclaimed sophomore album, The Year I Turned 21.
Ayra Starr delivered the goods with her recent sophomore album, The Year I Turned 21. In support of the project, she’s released the video for instant favorite, “Goodbye (Warm Up)” with Nigerian singer Asake.
The accompanying visuals are dedicated to Starr’s magnetic sass, the same attitude that powers the song. Set in something of an automobile workshop, choreography takes center stage, as Starr leads a group of dancers in a fluid sequence of salacious moves.
As it’s a video for a post-breakup kissoff, there’s some gentle tension with the male dancers at the start, which gives way to the assured energy Starr and the female dancers exude for most of the video. Featured collaborator Asake makes his customary cameo, performing his verse vibrantly while fainty looking like early aughts Nelly.
This new video for “Goodbye (Warm Up)” follows the one for “Last Heartbreak Song” with American R&B singer Giveon. It also continues the momentum for an album that’s been critically lauded and unanimously well-received by the general listening public.
