Asa Commands 'Satan Be Gone' In Her New Visuals
Nigerian soul singer/songwriter and guitarist Asa releases the American Deep South church visuals for " Satan Be Gone."
Nigerian soul singer and guitarist Asa showcases her solo dance moves in the video for her latest track "SBG (Satan Be Gone)." Asa came back strong after a few year hiatus last summer with her return single "Dead Again" before giving us these promising visuals. The Paris-based singer has always added in her own jazz and blues flavors to a Nigerian music industry teeming with pop and hip-hop sounds, and she does the same with "SBG (Satan Be Gone)." The JM-produced track evokes aspects of American blues, focusing on guitar riffs and drumbeats while Asa's husky Yoruba and English vocals bring in an element of Louisana 'zydeco' as she demands that satan let her be. Visually, director Meji Alabi keeps the single's religious theme with simple and strong visuals that show Asa in an empty, candlelit catholic church, draped in all black and performing a solo dance ritual. Watch Asa's video for "SBG (Satan Be Gone)" below, taken from last year's Bed of Stone, which she's currently on a lengthy European tour for.
