Arike Ogunbowale's Game Winning Shot Snagging Notre Dame's NCAA Women's Title Will Make Your Day

For the basketball fans out there, you should've watched yesterday's NCAA women's basketball championship game between Notre Dame and Mississippi State—and this clip below will show you why.

That game winning 3-point shot was brought to you by Notre Dame guard, Arike Ogunbowale. This isn't the only buzzer beater from Nigerian-American junior—her clutch shot knocked out NCAA favorite UConn in the semi-finals on Friday.

This is Notre Dame's first women's basketball championship title in 17 years, Sports Illustrated reports. The Fighting Irish was down by as much as 15 points during the game, but their comeback was one for the books, with a 36-18 run. Ogunbowale sealed the deal with her perfect shot with .1 seconds left.

This historic moment caught the eyes of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, as well as Dwayne Wade.

Ogunbowale comes from a family of athletes. The Milwaukee, Wisconsin native is the sister of free agent running back, Dare Ogunbowale. Her Nigerian father, Gregory, played soccer and rugby and her mother, Yolanda, was a softball pitcher for DePaul University. She is the second player of Nigerian heritage to play for Notre Dame in recent years, according to the university, following All-American forward Natalie Achonwa (2010-2014).
