Alec Lomami, one of Kinshasa's brightest producer/rappers, returns after some long down time with "Pardon My French," the lead single off his upcoming Melancolie Joyeuse EP. The track flips Miriam Makeba's "Pata Pata" and utilizes elements from Outkast and Watch The Throne (spot 'em) for a synth-flanked Anglo/Francophone and Lingala banger — with the refrain Oleli oleli oko lela yo na nani loosely translating to “ you can cry all you want, but no one really cares so you’d might as well just stop,” as AfriPOP notes. Look for Alec's EP dropping tomorrow for free on his bandcamp. This was definitely worth the wait.
